LONDON BOROUGH OF CAMDEN -
STEP INTO OUR SHOES
LOOK AFTER YOU
BREAK COMMS took Camden’s public health report into adolescents and turned it into a graphic novel and interactive event.
An engaged group of the borough’s 16-22 year olds provided valuable insight as we explored research into physical activity, food and healthy weight, long-term conditions, safety and violence, education, employment and training, and mental health, and built on the findings young people found most relatable.
The young people provided actionable recommendations for local councillors about how to improve health and wellbeing for the borough’s young people.
The following year, we co-created ‘Look after YOU,’ signposting Camden’s under 25s to confidential, non-judgemental and friendly health advice, all free and all in one place.
Insight from the Annual Public Health Report found that adolescents’ age affects how they get health care and they don’t always know how or where to get the health care they need.
We co-created OOH media, produced social media content fronted by Gen Z, and a website including information on sexual health, mental health, support with drugs, alcohol, smoking and vaping and help to register for a GP.
The campaign highlighted that looking for medical support is just an everyday part of life, and helped reduce stigma, building young people’s confidence in using health related services.
